Brief History Of MRA

A legacy of governance, excellence, and access in shooting sport.

The Maharashtra Rifle Association [MRA] is the apex state body for shooting sport in Maharashtra, India. It is affiliated to the National Rifle Association of India [NRAI] and the Maharashtra Olympic Association [MOA]. The state has produced several sporting luminaries who have made both Maharashtra and India proud. In shooting, Maharashtra has 1 Khel Ratna, 8 Arjuna Awardees, more than 60 international medallists, and innumerable National and National Games medals to its credit.

The Maharashtra Rifle Association is the sole supervisory body responsible for monitoring, governing, and regulating all shooting sport activity in the state.

Governed by some of the country’s leading sportspersons, MRA has transformed what was once seen as an elite sport into one that is increasingly accessible to the common man.

MRA has established exceptionally high standards for the conduct of the sport, with a strong emphasis on fairness, credibility, and transparency.
